PICTURES UP ON 'HOW QUICKLY CLOUDS MOVE'
Two weeks after wrap on picture one, we rolled on picture two.
Behind The Scenes on âHow Quickly Clouds Moveâ - Armin Dzafic prepares to film a scene.
Just weeks after wrapping post on our debut feature, Santa Hunters, we jumped straight into production on our second film, How Quickly Clouds Move.
Shot across Brisbane and the Gold Coast in late 2024, the film came together in a whirlwind two-week shoot, driven by a tight budget and a rare cast window we couldnât pass up. The story, originally a short written by our lead actor Armin DĹžafiÄ, quickly evolved into a full-length feature. It explores themes of queer identity, memory, and the Yugoslav-Australian experience, and stars Milijana Cancar (Better Man, Of An Age), Armin DĹžafiÄ, Karlo BiliÄ, and Slobodan Dane Andonoski.
Itâs a very different film from Santa Hunters - and thatâs exactly what drew us to it. Itâs intimate, personal, and deeply atmospheric.
Being back in the edit suite has reminded us why we love this work, the film is already shaping into something weâre incredibly proud of. Weâre looking forward to festivals and the road ahead.
âSANTA HUNTERSâ DEBUTS WITH A SOLD OUT PREMIERE
A full house for our first feature.
Richard and Natalie speak at the sold out premier screen for Santa Hunters - Starring Chris Slater, Janelle Bailey, and Andrew Lowe
In December 2024, we premiered our debut feature Santa Hunters to a packed cinema of 200. The sold out event had guests arriving in full festive spirit - some even in costume.
Santa Claus was there too. Obviously.
It was a joy to debut the film with so many of the cast, crew, friends and family who helped bring it to life. Hearing the crowd laugh, cheer, and lean into the emotional turns was unforgettable - a rare kind of magic that filled the room from the first scene to the last.
After the screening, we held a Q&A, and spent the night connecting with audience members at the afterparty. It was the best kind of celebration: one filled with warmth, laughter, and love for the weird little world weâve built together.
Since then, Santa Hunters has been distributed globally, and will premiere for broadcast nationally next Christmas - but this night will always be a core memory for us. The beginning of something weâre still building, and still grateful for every day.
RICHARD & NATALIE SIT DOWN WITH CINEMA AUSTRALIA
Talking shop with Cinema Australia.
Richard Jamze & Natalie Rose photographed for the new debut feature film, âSanta Huntersâ.
We recently sat down with Cinema Australia to chat all things Santa Hunters, filmmaking as a duo, and the chaos of moving from one feature straight into the next.
In the interview, we talk about how Santa Hunters came together from the ground up â writing, directing, shooting, editing, and completing hundreds of VFX shots ourselves â and how the experience shaped the way we approached How Quickly Clouds Move. We also reflect on working with friends, building worlds on microbudgets, and why weâre drawn to stories that blend humour, emotion, and genre.
It was a real joy to share our journey so far, and weâre grateful to Cinema Australia for the thoughtful questions (and for letting us ramble just the right amount).
PRODUCTION WRAPS ON âSANTA HUNTERSâ
Our Christmas mockumentary is officially in the can.
Santa Hunters - Starring Chris Slater, Janelle Bailey, and Andrew Lowe
After a wild ride of writing, shooting, editing, and over 200 VFX shots, production has officially wrapped on our debut feature, Santa Hunters.
The Christmas mockumentary was built from the ground up by a tiny team with the two of us writing, directing, shooting, editing, and completing post almost entirely ourselves. We had an incredible time making it, and despite the long nights and some deeply cursed props, weâre so proud of the weird little holiday movie we made.
Santa Hunters is a heartfelt, chaotic ode to passion, delusion, and holding onto your dreams - even when everyone thinks youâre nuts.
Weâre so grateful to everyone who helped us bring it to life.
Now onto the premiere...
'MISS NOTHING' IN CONTENTION AT THE AACTAâS
From living room production to the AACTAs.
âMiss Nothingâ - Starring (from left to right) Charlotte Stent, and Tyallah Bullock
Weâre thrilled to share that Miss Nothing is officially in contention for the AACTA Awards.
Miss Nothing has already had an incredible run on the international circuit - screening at seven festivals including BAFTA and BIFA-qualifiers, and picking up a Best International Film award along the way.
This little film was born from a small, passionate team who believed in telling a bold story on a tight timeline. We shot it over a whirlwind few days and edited it from our living room
Itâs a thrill to see something so close to our hearts be recognised at this level. No matter what happens next, weâre just really proud of what this team created.
